EDUC 338 - Foundations of Inclusive Education (SERV-2)


3 hours

This course is based on the assumption that all students are capable of learning. The course seeks to familiarize teacher candidates with the broad range of exceptionalities found in elementary and secondary classrooms. Emphasis is placed on learning to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse students in inclusive classrooms. Students are also introduced to the Response to Intervention model, including universal screening instruments and the three tiers of instruction and assessment. This course will include a case study incorporating twenty (20) hours of field experience outside of class time. A lab is required concurrently to assist in field experience. Lab Fee: 4 ($30).
Prerequisite(s): Achieved Teacher Education Candidacy or EDUC 201 , or permission of instructor.
