ART 228 - Watercolor I

3 hours

A course designed to give the student a basic understanding of the techniques of transparent watercolor. The student studies brush-strokes, painting surfaces, paint characteristics, masking, and the overlay of colors using the white surface for tinting. A variety of subjects will be studied that require specific painting techniques in rendering surface textures such as water, clouds, and trees. Lab Fee: 5 ($60).
Prerequisite(s): ART 104 , ART 105  or permission of the instructor.
